This will probably surprise many, but Asia is most likely the continent where whisky originated. Distillation was developed there around 800 B.C. How this knowledge travelled first and foremost the British Isles is still a mystery.
Opinions vary widely regarding how whisky should be served. With or without water? With or without ice? To us the answer is simple; have it the way you like it. There are no correct or incorrect ways - just a large number of interesting tastes to discover.
To learn more about whisky we decided to take a trip, so the entire Voyage staff travelled to Islay, a small island just off the west coast of Scotland. There are seven distilleries in the area, with Bowmore and Laphroaig among the most famous. Not only did the trip give us wonderful memories and amazing experiences, but we also brought back some tastes that we would be happy to share with you in our malt whisky bar.
